We listened to EvoLog Deputy General Manager Narod Döşemeciyan's thoughts about these projects: "The project titled “Make Life Visible in Traffic”, which we have been carrying out since 2018, is one of the most crucial projects we attach importance to. EvoLog Logistics is constantly in traffic with heavy vehicles due to its field of activity and initiated this project in order to raise public awareness about Blind Spots, one of the main causes of traffic accidents, and to prevent avoidable accidents.
According to the Road Traffic Accident Statistics for 2021 recently published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), 187 thousand 963 of the 1 million 186 thousand 353 traffic accidents that occurred on the roads of our country during 2021 resulted in deaths or injuries. It is found that pedestrians were at fault in 8.2 per cent of traffic accidents involving deaths and injuries. These statistics show how raising awareness of pedestrians can be effective in preventing traffic accidents."
Announcing that, in 2018, in a logo design contest, they set a blind spot logo that they are currently using on all their vehicles, Mr Döşemeciyan said: "With this logo, it is aimed to highlight the external areas of the vehicles that cannot be seen from the driver's seat, which are actually called blind spots in vehicles. Afterwards, in 2019, in cooperation with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the Blind Spot sculpture, consisting of accidentally damaged traffic signs and designed by sculptor Ayla Turan, was created and presented to the public in various squares of Istanbul. Following the illustrations drawn by Sadi Tekin in 2021, the project continued in 2022 with a short film that was shared on social media."
Narod Döşemeciyan continued his speech as follows: "EvoLog Logistics develops collaborations with Non-Governmental Organisations on issues such as integrating children with special needs into society and meeting their health and education needs. In this context, the employees of the company ran the Istanbul Marathon on behalf of Lösev for two consecutive years and were awarded the title of the Corporate Participant who collected the most donations for two consecutive years. In the project carried out in cooperation with the Tohum Autism Foundation, a project was initiated to address the educational equipment needs of existing autism classrooms in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, and two classrooms, one in Istanbul/Avcılar and the other in Tekirdağ/Saray, were launched in April. We aim to complete the project, which we started with the motto "10 Classrooms in our 10th Year", in 2023, when EvoLog will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary.
In addition, Evolog Logistics provides full support to volunteering projects carried out by its young employees. In the project titled "My Friend Far Away", which has been run by the employees of the company for the last 4 years, clothes and educational sets were delivered to a total of 750 children in 4 different cities, and books were donated to the library of a school."
Narod Döşemeciyan said "At Evolog Logistics, we believe that our only purpose of existence is not to grow and make profit. We feel the responsibility to contribute to the development and welfare of the society we are a part of". He also added that they are committed to continuing and diversifying their Corporate Social Responsibility Projects for many more decades with great pleasure.
